The article describes how wavefront correctors open up new possibilities for medical imaging procedures, in ophthalmology, cancer research and neuroscience among others. Transmissive Deformable Phase Plate (DPP) technology is particularly scalable and integrates easily into existing beam paths. Recent results highlight the potential of the method and are expected to foster its clinical use.
