Phaseform introduced the Delta 7-20 at SPIE Photonics West 2026 in San Francisco: a Deformable Phase Plate with a 20 mm clear aperture, twice the diameter of the Delta 7-10. It is the same device in every other respect — 63 electrodes, correction up to the 7th radial order of Zernike modes, transmissive, polarization-independent, pre-calibrated for open-loop use.
What the larger aperture buys
Aperture is the constraint that decides where a wavefront modulator can go. A 10 mm clear aperture fits the pupil of a high-magnification objective; it does not fit the pupil of a low-magnification one, and it does not fit the expanded beam in an illumination path without a relay to shrink it first. Every relay added for that reason is bench space, alignment time and lost light.

- Maximum peak-to-valley — > 7 µm and > 10 µm respectively
- RMS wavefront error of the best flat — < 15 nm on both
The larger stroke matters as much as the diameter: a bigger pupil needs more optical path difference to produce the same wavefront curvature across it.
Mounting
The Delta 7-20 has native M32 × 0.75 female threading, so a microscope objective screws directly onto it and the modulator sits immediately behind the pupil — no relay at all. Adapters to other standard optics threads are available on request.

The Delta 7-20 is specified for horizontal mounting, with the optical axis vertical. The Delta 7-10 is orientation-independent.
